What documents and certificates allow the bracket to be sold?

The National Declaration of Performance is a document issued by the entity introducing the product to the market - in accordance with the Construction Products Act.
The National Declaration of Performance is issued on the basis of the National Technical Assessment and is the only valid document confirming that the product may be used in residential construction.

Testing of terrace supports

The assessment of a support's parameters in the National Technical Assessment process involves a series of tests and examinations that determine its mechanical and chemical properties, including the type and composition of the material. The primary test is to determine the support's load-bearing capacity, both under constant and variable conditions. Laboratory tests and measurements allow us to simulate conditions encountered in the built environment. Both sub-zero and high temperatures (thermal shock) determine the support's behavior under atmospheric conditions and exposure to light (UV). Determining the static and variable forces acting on it (creep) and its reaction to fire are also crucial.

Regulations and standards

In Poland, there is currently no standard that explicitly addresses ventilated supports and terraces. Due to the application of this product, its intended use, and the fact that it is a permanently installed structural element, both the Building Research Institute and the General Office of Building Control have interpreted the terrace support as a construction product.
The entity introducing a construction product to the market issues a National Declaration of Performance, which is based on a construction standard appropriate for a given application. If there is no standard - as in the case of brackets - the declaration is issued on the basis of a National Technical Assessment - the Technical Assessment Body competent for brackets is the Building Research Institute (ITB).

NRO and BroofT1 Brackets

Another crucial aspect is the assessment of the supports in terms of their use in the roof system, their reaction to fire, and their impact on fire. A number of fire safety regulations also apply to these products.
In accordance with the classification criteria in relation to the test method used in Poland specified in the PN-EN 13501-5 standard and, additionally, the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location, NIVO LINE products have also been tested and have a classification report for the roof system in terms of fire safety.
Terrace supports, pads and additional accessories made of PP with a flame retardant additive can be used with a roof system with fire classification according to PN-EN 13501-5:2016 BROOF (t1).
In accordance with PN-EN 13501-1:2019-02, a classification was determined for products with flame retardant additives in terms of reaction to fire, where they obtained class B. Due to smoke emission, the product obtained an additional classification: s3. Furthermore, due to the occurrence of burning droplets/particles, the product obtained an additional classification: d0.
